As one of the BRICS countries, South Africa is the most industrialized country in Africa, the largest economy in Africa, located at the crossroads of the Indian Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean, and the trade hub for the whole of Southern Africa, with a population of 113 million people radiating from trade. Affected by the epidemic, bilateral trade between China and South Africa was close to $36 billion in 2020, down 15.7% year-on-year. However, China-South Africa trade volume accounted for a steady increase in South Africa's total foreign trade in the same period, showing strong resilience. China has maintained its position as South Africa's largest trading partner for 12 consecutive years, while South Africa has been China's top trading partner in Africa for 11 consecutive years. This shows that South Africa has great market potential and is worthy of deep plowing.
